Day 2: Hike to Agios Dionysios Monastery – Following the Enipeas Gorge
Today’s hike follows the picturesque Enipeas River, leading you through dense forests, natural pools, and cascading waterfalls. The soothing sound of the river, coupled with breathtaking views of rugged cliffs and deep gorges, creates a truly enchanting experience.
Your destination is the Agios Dionysios Monastery, founded in the 16th century by Saint Dionysios of Olympus, a revered figure in the Greek Orthodox Church. Once a thriving religious center, the monastery was partially destroyed during World War II but remains a symbol of resilience and spiritual devotion. Its stone walls and tranquil setting, nestled deep in the mountains, provide a serene glimpse into the past.
Though the distance is manageable, the gradual 900-meter ascent presents a rewarding challenge, providing ample opportunities to stop and appreciate the sweeping views and serene surroundings. Upon reaching the monastery, immerse yourself in its tranquil, timeless atmosphere as you wander along the ancient stone paths. Afterward, return to Litochoro by transfer for a well-deserved rest.

Day 3: Hike to Spilios Agapithos Mountain Hut – Following the E4 Trail
After a transfer back to Agios Dionysios Monastery, your hike begins along the E4 European long-distance trail, winding deeper into the heart of Mount Olympus National Park. Early in the journey, you’ll reach the cave chapel of Saint Dionysios, nestled among the rocks—a tranquil and historic site where the saint once lived in solitude.
The trail follows the Enipeas River, guiding you past a series of natural pools and cascading streams. You will cross the river multiple times, occasionally on wooden bridges and at other times by hopping across stepping stones, all while surrounded by dense forests and towering cliffs. The ascent becomes increasingly challenging, but the rewards are plenty: clear mountain streams, stunning vistas, and an escalating sense of remoteness as you climb higher.

Day 4: Summit Adventure – Skala, Skolio, and the Zonaria Traverse
Today’s trek takes you to the heart of Mount Olympus's high alpine world, offering an exhilarating journey across its most iconic ridges and summits. The day begins with a steady ascent through rocky terrain as you leave Mountain Hut A behind. The air becomes thinner as you approach the Skala summit (2,866 m), where breathtaking views unfold in every direction.
From the summit of Skala, the rugged Mytikas peak (2,918 m), Greece’s highest elevation, stands majestically before you. Take a moment to admire the dramatic ridges and watch climbers as they make their way to the summit. Continuing along a spectacular ridge, you reach the summit of Skolio (2,911 m)—another highlight of the day, where panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the surrounding peaks stretch out below.
The descent follows the Zonaria Trail, a picturesque route that winds beneath towering cliffs. The trail clings to the mountain's rugged face, providing continuous reminders of the scale and grandeur of Olympus. Your hike culminates at the Plateau of the Muses, a tranquil high-altitude plain encircled by jagged peaks.
Here, you’ll find Mountain Refuge Kakkalos, a charming mountain hut nestled in this dramatic landscape. Unwind, take in the evening views, and get ready for another day filled with adventure.

Day 5: Descent from the Plateau of the Muses to Koromilia Mountain Hut
After the challenges of the previous days, today’s hike offers a more leisurely pace, allowing you to fully appreciate the changing landscapes of Mount Olympus. Departing from the Plateau of the Muses, you follow a scenic trail toward Giosos Pass, where sweeping mountain views unfold before you.
The trail gently descends along Lemos Ridge, a narrow and picturesque section known as “The Throat,” before taking you into the dense, shaded forests of the lower slopes. The terrain transforms from rugged alpine wilderness into tranquil woodlands, where the air is filled with the scent of pine and the distant sound of birdsong.
As you continue your descent, the Koromilia Mountain Hut appears like a hidden sanctuary among the trees. This cozy refuge is your home for the night, offering a tranquil setting to reflect on your journey thus far and to prepare for your final descent tomorrow.

Day 6: Descent to Agios Konstantinos – Return to Litochoro
Your final descent begins at the Koromilia Mountain Hut, following forest trails that wind gently down toward the east. As you walk through the tranquil woodland, occasional clearings reveal stunning views that stretch across the plains to the distant Aegean Sea.
A stop near the Orlias stream offers a perfect opportunity to rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, with the sound of flowing water adding a soothing soundtrack to your journey. The trail continues to the Church of Agios Konstantinos, where a transfer takes you back to Litochoro.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Stroll through the charming village, indulge in a well-deserved meal at a local taverna, or head down to the coast for a refreshing swim in the sea—a perfect way to end your adventure.
