Late afternoon, we arrive in Mazeri, a picturesque village nestled among the peaks, where the serenity of the mountains embraces you. Tonight, relax in the warmth of a local guesthouse as you prepare for the adventures that await.

Day 2: Chasing the Cascades of Ushba Waterfalls from Mazeri
We begin our day in Mazeri, ready to explore the natural beauty that surrounds this charming village. The trail follows the Dolra River, passing by mineral springs and a small, picturesque church along the way. As we hike through open meadows and serene pine forests, the scenery shifts, and we ascend toward the Ushba Waterfalls. Here, the cascading waters create a stunning display framed by the rugged peaks of Svaneti—a perfect reward for our efforts. For those who wish to explore further, and if the weather permits, an optional hike to the Ushba Glacier offers an additional adventure. Although the path is rugged, the experience is unforgettable for those who choose to continue. We return to Mazeri in the evening, savoring a well-deserved meal and the comfort of our guesthouse after a day immersed in the region's natural beauty.

Day 3: Mazeri to Mestia via Guli Pass and Koruldi Ridge
The day begins with a challenging trek through the Guli Pass, which stands at an elevation of 2,960 meters. This steep ascent demands considerable effort but rewards hikers with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, making every step worthwhile amidst the stunning landscapes. After crossing the pass, the trail leads to a peaceful valley, untouched and serene. Continuing onward, we reach the Koruldi Ridge, where sweeping views of the Svaneti Mountains offer a fitting highlight to the day. As the trek concludes, we descend to Mestia, where a cozy guesthouse offers a well-deserved rest.

Day 4: Journey from Mestia to Zhabeshi: Exploring the Heritage of Svaneti
The day begins in Mestia village as we set out toward the Mulakhi community, a region known for its traditional Svan villages. The trail is easy to navigate, following an off-road route and a well-marked path that winds through picturesque meadows and forested areas. Along the way, you will encounter iconic Svan homes and defensive towers—structures that reflect the unique architecture and rich history of the region. By late afternoon, we arrive in Zhabeshi, a tranquil village where the pace of life reflects the simplicity and traditions of the mountains. A guesthouse offers a cozy place to rest and recharge for the next stage of the trek.

Day 5: Journey to the Timeless Charm of Adishi
Today’s hike takes us from Zhabeshi village to the slopes of Mount Tetnuldi, blending scenic beauty with a sense of adventure. The trail ascends past the Tetnuldi ski resort and winds through peaceful forests of birch trees and rhododendron bushes, where the crisp mountain air invigorates your spirit. Crossing a small mountain stream, we emerge into alpine meadows that lead us to Adishi. This remote and picturesque village, adorned with centuries-old stone towers and houses, feels like a step back in time. Nestled beneath the imposing presence of Mount Tetnuldi and surrounded by towering peaks, Adishi’s serene beauty and authentic atmosphere make it truly unforgettable. The day concludes with an overnight stay at a local guesthouse, where the simplicity of mountain life offers a refreshing sense of tranquility.

Day 6: Crossing Chkhutnieri Pass: From Adishi to Iprali
The day begins in Adishi village, where we set out upstream along the river. After about an hour of hiking, we come across the swift-flowing Adishi River. For safety, we cross the river on horseback, an efficient and memorable way to continue our journey. The trail then ascends steadily to the Chkhutnieri Pass, reaching an elevation of 2,655m. From the top, the expansive views of the Adishi Glacier and the surrounding mountains provide a breathtaking perspective on the rugged beauty of the region. After a break and lunch on the ridge, we begin our descent into the valley of the Khaldechala River. The trail leads us to the remnants of Khalde village, a site with a storied past dating back to its destruction in the 19th century. From Khalde, an off-road path takes us to the welcoming village of Iprali, where a warm meal and the comfort of a guesthouse.

Today, we trek through the traditional Svani villages of Kala and Davberi, navigating forested paths that gradually lead us to Ushguli, a village located at an impressive altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level. Ushguli is not only the highest permanent settlement in Europe, but it also features a stunning blend of medieval architecture and breathtaking mountain landscapes. As we arrive, you are captivated by the sight of medieval towers and churches standing tall against the backdrop of Mount Shkhara, one of the highest peaks in Georgia. We explore the Ushguli Ethnographic Museum, located within a 12th-century Svanetian tower-house, and visit the medieval Lamaria Church, a lasting symbol of the region’s rich history. After a day of exploration, we settle in Ushguli for the night, surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Svaneti Mountains.

Arriving in Tbilisi, the vibrant capital, we close this remarkable chapter of exploration and discovery, carrying with us the spirit of the mountains and the enduring stories of Svaneti that will remain in our hearts forever.
