Day 1: From Legends to Spiritual Journeys – Almaty to Turkistan
Your journey begins with an early morning flight from Almaty to Shymkent, where history and spirituality await. Upon arrival, set off for Sayram, the birthplace of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, one of the most revered figures in Central Asian Sufism. Here, visit the mausoleums of his parents, Ibrahim-Ata and Kharashash-Ana, and stand before the remnants of the Hyzyr minaret, a silent witness to the region’s rich Islamic heritage.
Next, continue to Kemekalgan Village, a place steeped in myth and spiritual significance. Touch the legendary "Adam and Eve" rock, where tradition says that those who pass through the narrow gap are absolved of their sins. Nearby, the site believed to be the landing place of Noah’s Ark enhances the mystical aura of this sacred land.
The journey then leads to Turkistan, where you check in at your hotel before stepping into a world of enchantment at Karavansaray, Central Asia’s largest cultural and entertainment complex. Experience the 8D “Altyn Samruk” cinema, where the mythical Samruk bird takes you on a breathtaking journey through Kazakhstan’s landscapes and history. Stroll along the canals, and if you wish, take a gondola ride to fully immerse yourself in this magical setting.
As evening falls, witness the spectacular Kyz-Zhibek and Tolegen boat parade—a captivating tale of love and destiny performed on the shimmering waters of Karavansaray’s harbor. The harmonious blend of music, lights, and storytelling culminates in a truly unforgettable ending to your first day.

Day 2: The Sacred Heart of Turkistan & the Lost City of Otrar
After breakfast, step into the spiritual essence of Turkistan, a city where history and faith are deeply intertwined. Begin your morning at the Azret-Sultan State Historical and Cultural Reserve, home to the awe-inspiring Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an architectural masterpiece of Timurid design. Its towering dome and intricate tilework stand as a tribute to one of the most influential Sufi mystics in Central Asia.
Wander through the Turkistan Necropolis, where generations of pilgrims have left their prayers, and visit the Hilvet Semi-Underground Mosque, a sanctuary for solitude and meditation. Explore the remnants of an ancient hammam, the fortress wall, and the old citadel gates, where the echoes of the Silk Road's bustling trade still seem to linger in the air.
Leaving Turkistan behind, travel to Otrar, once a thriving oasis along the Silk Road, now a hauntingly beautiful archaeological site. Walk among the remnants of palaces, mosques, and market squares, imagining the merchants and scholars who once brought this city to life before its tragic fall to the Mongols.
